The Path Less Traveled
We are the shadows that stray from one road to another
Hoping to find our place in life
Yet we see that path
The one that everyone is afraid to even glance at
We are the cat that’s afraid to cross the stream
That’s afraid to get all of ourselves soaked
But we are the dove in a flock of crows
Unfit, no longer existent to them, just another human in the world
Again we gaze over our shoulders
Wondering, questioning ourselves
Is this even worth it?
Can I take up my own cross?
We are a toddler that’s taking their first step into the unknown
We are unsure, first we hesitate
Then we stumble
Then we fall...
Suddenly we see a helping hand
We are the crippled man
We struggle with a decision, afraid to to understand
Shall we continue to ascend?
Or look back over our shoulders and stay?
Reaching up, we decided to take that first step
Together, we start walking away from everything and everyone
Step into that one road
That has the surface of marble stone

I have a personal experience with travelling the common paths before and hope to go where I want and need to go, not because everyone is travelling the saame paths.
