Escaping Your MInd
How do you escape your mind?
When all that's left are broken rhymes and lullabies?
When the zest of trees makes them look green,
When you're a thousand worlds apart from reality?
Frogs with colorful minds filled with luminous thoughts and secrets,
Leap from pond to pond, flying gracefully.
How do you escape your mind?
When you've left everything behind?
Broken thoughts and wicked lies,
Clouding your frail mind.
Trapping you in a desolate place,
Only to remind us of our sins and lies.
How do you escape your mind?
When every broken promise started out as a lie?
Perhaps the grass isn't always greener,
On the other side.
Mystical illusions and tricks that are played,
Take away the pain and betrayal of life.
We are nothing more than a piece of grain in the giant night sky.
Black holes are what we are,
Emptiness that sucks innocents in,
Tearing them from limb to limb.
How do you escape this wretched mind?
When all you have are soft lullabies?
The very first laughter of a child,
The pain of the mysterious sea,
The challenges of life.
They are all tests,
Made within our lies.
Is there really even a way out of your mind?
Broken lies, broken promises, and broken lullabies.
They are all challenges played within minds.
How do you escape this wicked mind?
When every game it plays brings nothing but shame?
Wondering, forever I will be wondering.
Your mind can be a dark place,
Full of emptiness and cries.
How do you escape this mind?
How do you move onto a beautiful life...full of light?
