A Seagull Am I
Dip, dive, dance through salty air
Look down on the folk who don’t seem to care
The seaside my home, I know nothing else
Willing to pass up that lone french fry for one but myself
Soar, glide, penetrate the wind
Playfully tease the beachgoers until they have grinned
Gaining a smile with every pass I make
Absorbing the sun, allowing my exterior to bake
Gawk, stare, admire the beings below me
Living in the now, for a moment they seem so free
Another day passes, I retrieve to my slumber
Except for our flaws we all look the same, but we’re much more than just a number
