Adieu
Shattered faces
Empty hearts
Longing of something that once was
The tears start to flow
As one you just began to know
Whispers softly
Adieu
They leave you alone
To scream
Pointlessly through dusty windows
Pounding until
Your knuckles are red
That life
The one you wished for with them
Slowly passes you by
With snapped photos
Of forgotten memories
They come back to haunt us
Secrets are out
Spilled on the pavement about you
They remind of what once was
What could have been
Then as we give it pause
We seem to realize it will never be
