Winter Blood
Standing out in the cold after school
Blade in hand, sleeve rolled up.
Wrist up, blade down.
The two become one.
One gentle slice across the surface,
Like a soft kiss upon the lips.
One cut becomes two,
the four, then eight.
Standing there
Feeling like there is a crowd around you,
But there is not one living soul around.
Pulling down the sleeve and walking to the door,
One deep breath and walk inside.
No one notices you were crying.
Look out the window
And see that puddle of blood in the snow,
You did that.
Look closer
Your body is lying there,
You did that too.
