First Snowfall
Sunlight shines
Directly on me.
Moonlight creeps
Slowly towards me,
All that’s bright darkens
Colors fade away.
But I’m not scared,
For that I knew this would happen.
Cold winter breeze dances,
Slowly across my face.
Tiny, white snowflakes
Float down softly
Red nose pressed
Against the window
Eyes widen with excitement
I’m free!
