Somewhere in the World
The tears never end
they are tattooed on my face
I don't know where you are
Or who you are
so this is sent somewhere in the world
you may not see me
But it feels like you are always here
Right behind me staring at my shadows
In the darkness of my heart
And just when I think I'm gonna heal
You attack me
No matter where I am
In the mirror I talk to you
And in the dark I wait
For my good-night kiss
But then I remember
And instead of feeling your safe arms
I feel my tears trickling down my face
When I see a daddy and a lil girl
It reminds me of you and me
At a time when happiness wasn't just a fairy tale
And when we made our own stories together
And now I still dream
Those stories that are still as clear as glass
And I smile to think when you had me dance on your toes
I don't know where you are
And I just want you to know
It's thirteen years late and I have still never fully stepped off
