The Perks of Being Human
I miss the sun, I miss the moon.
I miss the chilling autumn noon.
I miss the streets, I miss the signs.
I miss the twisting, winding lines.
I miss today, I miss tomorrow.
I miss the tears, so filled with sorrow.
I miss the people: you and me.
I miss the stars, I miss the sea.
I miss the lightning, miss the thunder.
I miss nature, so full of wonder.
I miss the skies, I miss the trees.
I miss the busy, buzzing bees.
I miss the fall, I miss the spring.
I miss the tiny little things.
I miss emotions: love and hate.
I miss the pain that was so great.
I miss the colors: blue and green.
I miss the times when I could scream.
I miss the secrets, miss the lies.
I miss the jealous, angry spies.
I miss the chaos, miss the ruin.
I miss the perks of being human.

I got to thinking one night about everything that we take for granted and overlook. We go about our lives not really appreciating everything we have and the privelages we are blessed with just by being human. Before you know it, our lives will be over and you will either be able to look back with satisfaction about how you lived and never took one moment for granted or you will look back and wonder, "What if?"
