Muted
What's the loudest sound in the world?
A lion's roar? A jet plane? An explosion?
How about silence?
That's right, complete and utter silence.
In silence, there is no noise, no sound;
the only things the mind can focus on are thoughts and memories.
The thoughts that no one hears but you,
they swirl in your head around and around.
Some come in whispers, so low, you hold your breath just to hear them.
Others echo in time with the beat of your heart, monotonous and repetitive.
The rest, they scream louder and louder, Louder, LOUDER!
Then the silence is broken,
the thoughts are diminished.
Becoming meer whispers that get muted in the hustle and bustle of the loud outside world.
