Chained
And so we flew,
Not allowing the ground to hold us
Captive to the madness below.
Only with you could I fly,
And in our bubble I was happy.
But then you sank,
And behind you was a trail of poison.
That lethal dose of reality.
For a while you would rise back up again
Join me in my lonely bliss
But time after time you dove right back down
And chained yourself to that
Mad
Mad
World.
There are days when you try to break free,
But the chain pulls you right back down again.
And there’s one thing about this that makes me so angry.
It’s that you don’t seem to care.
