Asthma Attack
It hurts to breathe-
There are holes forming in my lungs,
But nothing has filled them since the day before
I left that night,
And I think I gave you
All the oxygen I had left
In the pockets of my jacket,
So I don’t run anymore,
Because my lungs can’t replace the breath you took,
And my knees are too weak to keep me from bowing to you,
And my arms cannot find the strength to pump
Because even my dumbbells ache with missing you,
And my hands can’t seem to grasp my inhaler
Because all they want to do is fill themselves with daisies,
But I can’t breathe from all the pollen,
And I suffocate in you.
