Tomorrow
Yesterday it was hot in Texas,
Not as hot as it usually was
Its Spring breeze is nothing to compare
To the Summer fire that it is famous for.
But today it is cold outside
As cold as the coldest days of Winter
And yet here I thought that Spring has come to stay,
But it leaves for the coldest Winter day.
How can it be Winter if it is Spring?
If Spring’s getting colder, what of Summer?
Will it be cooler, too? And less harsh?
Will life be better, also? Will we be less apart?
Today it’s laughter, but what of after?
Will there be tears, lust, and anger?
Life is a mixture of spices,
And I, the product, contently suffices.
A side of me is sweet, the other sour
Another spicy, and plus the bitter
Will I be able to find a friend that is compatible
To the spices that I am, undeniable?
Today, a Spring day, it is cold in Texas
Tomorrow, still a Spring day, it will be warm again
I am a bit worry
That tomorrow I won’t be who I am.
