Candy Wrapper
Candy Wrapper, why have you been abandoned?
Torn and injured, who did such a deed?
Are you now to return to Him who made you?
Why are you lying there in solitude?
Have you friends whom you tried to protect,
With your insulated body and papered skin?
Where are they now, did they even care
For your sacrifices, for the sufferings you bare?
I, too, feel the way you do
With love, I’ve embraced those in need
In return, they’ve given me distaste
Their eyes flee from mine with haste.
Candy Wrapper, you are to return to dust,
As am I, as the livings of this world
With sacrifices, a purpose you have served
What of me now, where is mine to reserve?
Candy Wrapper, I must now confess
For jealousy, I murdered the happiness of your life
I torn your skin, and swallowed your friends
May my sins now be forgiven.
Your funeral shall be most profound
Your tomb, the can, shall exceed, in proportion, of pyramids
There will be songs about your sacrifices
And hymns about my disgusting appetite.
But no friends shall attend your ceremony
Only strangers of sympathies and those of the same fate
As you ascend, lonely amidst the unknown band,
A fraction of mine, you might understand.
Goodbye, Candy Wrapper, dear friend
I wish you lots of luck and success.
