Cookie Crumbs
Every step in life I take
Pushes my life to the edge
Of what could or could not be
What we call life
But how I choose to live
Is how I disappear in
A state of synthetic bliss
Only crumbs and never the whole
Because that is all life is
Life is like a whole cookie
And the damned are the crumbs
Forgotten until truly desperate times
And then there’s me
I’m like the smallest of them all
The lowest of the low
I am that one forgotten crumb
Left on the table like trash
That’s all I am
