Weeds Grow Amongst the Flowers
I took the chance yesterday, to sit in the garden for hours.
I pondered why weeds grew amongst the lovely flowers.
I supposed it was for them to grow, while the petals slowly died.
They feasted on their sadness and forced their words inside.
The delicate flowers couldn’t save themselves from the ravaging beasts,
They are far too soft and beautiful to be saved by rain or wild yeast.
The weeds overtake a garden, killing all that’s dear to a poor rose,
entwine their rough roots and bury all alive till the wind blows.
