Growing Up Sad
There was once a little boy and little girl whose parents gave them the whole world.
Diamonds and rubies,
Elephants and tigers,
Kingdoms high above and down below,
All the toys in the world was theirs to play,
So play all day they would.
Jump and shout,
Skip and leap,
Crouch and Lunge,
Yes, the children had fun all day.
But the giggles and the tickles began to pass as mother moon came.
Hide and crouch they would, but this was no game.
And they soon realized that everything their parents gave,
All the diamonds and rubies,
elephants and tigers,
kingdoms high above and down below,
and all the toys that were theirs to play meant nothing as darkness came.
The children did not like the night, for when mother moon shined,
they never
felt
so
alone.
