That summer, that trip that didn’t happen
She was young, too young
That day, a Saturday, she was pale, white pale
A drink, someone got her a drink

She was young, too young
Too late, the drink was too late
Bathroom, she was trying to throw up
An ambulance came, sirens wailing

Bathroom, she was trying to throw up
Too late, the drink had been too late
A chair, they took her to a chair, then outside
Pale, she was pale white

That summer, that trip that didn’t happen
That day, that took my mother from me
Forever etched in my mind
Fear and emptiness is all that was felt

This is about my mother's death, and the hurt that followed.

@transparantspirit434, thank you. I hate that she passed, but it's getting better.

I'm so sorry. This was a beautiful poem.
