I was once asked about a man
a man I swear i'll never forget
he had touched a child, no he had not touched her hand
he had touched her wrongly instead
I was once asked about a woman
a woman I swear i'll never forget
she gave birth to a child, a child she thought she had loved
that child is now another's instead
I was once asked about a boy
a boy I swear i'll never forget
he was once my brother, he was once my friend
now we're forced to be strangers instead
