She had pain, stored but not contained
It was a pill that her brother swallowed daily
Poison in his stomach—till it killed them both
Slowly
The living room was a warm fire
Without shadows on the floor
It was forgotten memorial to family
Truly
Their pictures worth a thousand lies
Flashing smiles before the flash
Not bright enough to cover up
The emptiness in their eyes
Sadly
