One More Letter, A Thousand Left
I stared silently,
At the blank paper in front of me,
The letter I had to send to the poor young man's family,
I begged and pleaded silently,
"Don't make me write it,
Don't make me write it,"
Hoping for a miracle,
For words to appear,
My hand refused to pick up the pen,
I was tired of this writing letters to poor families,
And yet,
There were always more,
If only this war could end,
If only the poor man could come back to life,
If only I didn't have to,
Write,
This,
One,
Letter
