How I hate thee, dear poetry
Every sonnet and limerick
Every stanza and line
All your rhyme schemes and metaphors
always leave me wanting more
Your hidden meanings are deceiving
And your truth is hard to find

Poetry, O poetry
How I love thee, dear poetry
Every ballad and couplet
Every syllable and verse
Your insights
in hindsight

shed light on humanity
And your existence brings me joy
