You tuck your petals inward,
A lavender sarcophagus smothering you.
You pull them in so tight that
Not even light can find it’s way to you.

It’s been like this since he
Buried himself into the earth and
Bloomed up to Heaven
To linger above, about the garden

It’s been five years since he left
Five years since you shunned the world
Five years since the sun has seen your face.
Not even Spring can touch you.

I try to coax out your aromatic nectar.
But you don’t understand that he is gone,
He is never coming back.
So, please bloom one last time
