Night Wanderer
Twilight has come and gone. I snuck out. I can feel the grass between my toes and the tickle of dew drops as they dampen my feet. It is cold and foggy outside. Somehow I am drawn to the lake. Shimmering in the moonlight, my reflection stares back at me. Looks so broken, so sad. The stars twinkle in the night sky above. A breeze has picked up, turning to wind, chilling me to the bone. Yet I can not leave. I stand and stare at the grandeur of the night. Lightning bugs and stars illuminate the dark. Mist hangs in the crisp, cool air as little waves break along the shoreline. In the midst of all this beauty I still feel utterly alone. I look at the lake, so peaceful, yet I am so broken. The leaves start to fall with every gust of wind. Suddenly, all the trees are bare and the darkness of the night envelopes me. I am the night wanderer.
