Caged Bird
I'm trapped in this room
I cant beat my wings
I ponder my doom
And then I start to sing
It's pitch black in here
So I'm opening the door
Although I live in fear
Of what may lie in store
This dinky little poem
To who I am it is the key
The caged bird in me
Is about to be free
I emerge into the light
Because here I cant see
I no longer care
What the people will say
In the end I think I'll feel
Better this way
Want an explanation?
You may be confused
Here's my situation
'Cause I have nothing left to lose
The caged bird is me
I scream and I shout
My cage is the closet
And now
I'm coming out
