Lullaby
Don't you DARE sing me a lullaby.
Why?
Well, because lullabies are weird.
Bad- weird.
To see me off on my journey
Of comatose roses
You want to sing me a song?
I don't like it.
...You know what? No.
I'll be real.
Sleep is my only way out,
You see.
So naturally,
The last of my desires
Is for you to aid me
In tripping into
The Breathing Death.
Because you're the reason
I'd rather
Unconsciously hallucinate
For hours
And hours
Than to feel
The sun on my skin
And hear
The melody of the birds.
So you'll understand, I'm sure,
When I say
I don't want your voice
To be the freshest thing
In my mind
Before slipping into
The only peace
You haven't taken from me.
