Morning Thoughts
I wake up with the smell of you on my skin
Breathing you in to remember how your lips taste on mine
How your arms tangle themselves around my body
How your sighs send shivers down my spine
We are both so fragile
Making constellations with the parts of our bodies that catch fire
Out of fear that one day our stars will never realign
Sometimes you kiss everywhere but my mouth
Fluttering your eyelashes on my cheek to let me know
That for this very moment, you would never dare to leave
In the hour that the sun rises
There are only tender touches
Creating a safe haven with only you and me inside
So neither of us have to face the world quite yet
You've tasted my body
Now shake the dust off of my heart
Because although I know I am capable of loving someone
I am terrified of loving you
