You can't write a poem about the Vietnam war
Everyone is running.
I look around and everyone you know is dead.
I can feel my heart beating faster than a race car.
I hear BANG! BANG! close by me, so I run faster
A Vietnam soldier shoots at me barely missing the
side of my head.
I felt as if I was going to die right there and then.
I’m running and running to find safety.
I run faster as if I was the
cheetah’s prey.
I stop behind a hut to catch my breath.
The trees sway a if it was a trying to comfort me
I can smell the dead bodies all around me.
As I am catching my breath a bullet went straight to my head.
Everything went black. I woke up thinking that I’m dead
Lucky I’m not and I’m alive.
I can’t remember everything about my past.
It hurts to think about it, but what happen in the Vietnam war was a vivid memory.
