Spring
Crisp, morning air sneaks in through cracks as if it would be denied entry had it knocked
Resilient trees turn green and full once again
And the ground sparkles with twinkling dew drops, like little bits of light the stars left behind
The pavement is warm and inviting
Bicycle wheels and dog paws turn and trot under the calm sun
And cool wind embraces the birds as they sing of its sweet touch
Cars rest quietly in garages, knowing they won’t be needed
Flowers yawn and stretch their petals after a long slumber
And white swirls of cream swim in pools of hot coffee
Light beams through my windows, yellow and pretty
I sit up in bed and smile at spring
And with ocean deep eyes and sweet rosy cheeks, she smiles back at me
