You are like having children of my own
but better because we can talk like best friends

You get older every year
and one day you'll be in high school
like I am now
and you'll have your own group of friends
and your own hobbies and ways you spend your precious time

You'll make a billion of them
some won't matter
but some will
I will love you no matter what mistake it is
because I, too, have made my fair share of mistakes
and i assure you that whatever mistake you've made
I've either done it or been around someone who has
I cannot judge
so I don't want you to think you can't come to me
because you can
You can ask me any question
or tell me any event

I will never be mad at you
or want you to be punished
It's your parents' job to handle discipline
not mine
my job is to give you someone to come to with all your problems
I'm here to listen and to offer advice

No matter what you say or what you do
I will always love you
and i will always see the very best in you
because each of us makes mistakes
I do not care about what it is I only care about helping you
and making you feel loved and happy

When you come to me I will never be mad
because I know what its like to feel ashamed
and i know what it's like
to feel as though everyone is disappointed in you

I promise I will never ever make you feel that way
and i promise to listen and give you someone to look up to
I promise to be there for you in every part of your life
