Claire
Running,
Jumping,
imagining.
How beautiful is the joy in a child?
It is as though it never goes away
How simple is her happiness?
In the way the smallest things
make her laugh,
make her smile,
and even if only for a while
in her mind
there is no wrong in the world
evil does not exist
She believes in everything
and her trust is easy to earn
Its beautiful and Joyous
how this child is...
but its sometimes tragic
to think of how she could grow up
"I want to be an astronaut!"
fades and "I must make money"
could captivate her thoughts,
that wishful thinking
of having the life of her
imagination
gets destroyed by the harshness of reality
Why can't this little girl become a princess?
maybe she won't live in a castle
or kiss a frog that turns to a prince
but
she can wait on the man of her dreams
and fall in love with her own prince Charming
My sweet darling,
I hope that one day
all of your childhood dreams come true
I hope you find your prince
I pray that you become whatever it is you want to be
whether that be a ballerina or a softball player
a mathematician or a stay-at-home mom.
whatever it is you want to be
don't let anyones opinions stop you
because only you and God dictate your path
He draws it out and you make the choices
so please
for the sake of that beautiful joy instilled in the world of your childhood
choose to stay happy
and choose to dream.
