I Woke Up in a Haze
I woke up in a haze, not knowing what I am
I searched my milk-white bedroom and found a hand.
She brushed my ear, “come with me...
It’s your time; you have a lot to see...”
She held me against her warm caress,
So I could feel her heart beat through her thin blue dress,
“Can’t you tell me where to go, how to get there?”
“I can’t tell you what to be or when, and I can’t tell you where.”
But she took me away from the confusion I was in.
We went to a bright, private place with food
There, when I looked in her eyes, I saw that she cared.
I fell in shocking, shamefully defenseless love as I stood.
She took me to a place she had never been before.
But she was less scared than me. “Please don’t go, please stay.”
She told me, “You have all night; it will all be okay”
She dropped me off in my bed.
“Will I see you again?” I said.
“No, you will meet someone better and smarter than me
If you hold your head up and always be happy.”
I fell asleep. I woke up. She was there.
She didn’t remember the same, but she was always there
