A Perfect Society
I walk alone in a cruel, dark world.
Where everything was torched, yet nothing burned.
Here we are in a perfect society.
Everyone has their own secret thoughts, but no one has privacy.
Piles of garbage block the roads.
And still people litter across the globe.
I am alive on a sick, dying planet.
Where nothing seems to cause a panic.
There we lay crying in pain.
Drowning in our sorrows and mind-numbing shame.
This earth is crumbling under our feet.
But we will rise again; or so we think.
I’m not okay, but I don’t care for emotion.
Even when I’m completely and totally broken.
The ground has withered, yet it still breathes.
As I awake from this depressing bad dream.
