My favorite Sweater

In the back of a closet, with plain walls
I find you.
Though you are faded, and a little stretched out
I still wear you
From time to time.
I put you on
To remember
Your scent,
The gravel in your voice,
The lines on your face.
I look in the mirror
And see that you are too big for me
Now.
You don’t hug my curves,
You no longer wrap around
My edges.
So I take you off
Fold you up.
And remember a time,
When you did.
