Dear Friend,
Dear friend
I see square faces
Covered in dried paint
In strange places
Filled with dried hate
For one another
They smile
They laugh at each other
Because they will never
Be able to admit
That this isn't it
This isn't reality
We are in a disguised prison
We have been enslaved
by our debt to the stars
We talk about getting away
But we won't get far
They have taken over the land
Rules
Laws
They keep us all in their hand
With closed fists
Our cuffed wrists
Screaming for freedom
Our frozen minds
Will not melt for no reason
We memorize
Not learn
Then we realize
We have our future to burn
But where are we going to find
Fuel
Or a match
They say they are giving us
The tools
For the future
But they haven't even handed us the key
To open up our creativity
Only a stick
To draw on the mud
what we see in the sky
And we don't even get to pick
You walk in
You sit down
You nod
You Agree
You shut your mouth
You consume other's opinions
You agree
You don't get to decide
You just exist
Dear fiend
This is no way to live
What I would give
To maybe, just maybe
Find a better perhaps
