An Artist's Life
Take my mind
under lock and key.
Put it on a pedestal
far above my reach,
But low enough for the world to see
the madness kept inside my dreams.
It's unexpectedly remarkable,
a private viewing sort of spectacle.
Sell it to the highest bidder,
a Mr. Gray sort of sinner,
who will take the key and sell it back to me.
I can see my dreams from nine to five.
This is an artist's life.
