My Lucky Find
One day, I found this beautiful shell at the beach.
It spoke to me.
I saw it lying there,
covered in sand sleeping.
Waiting for someone to wake it up.
I took the shell
with my beefy six year old hands.
Instead of putting it
in my bright red bucket of other shells.
I kept it in my hand.
Later, with that one shell in my hand still.
I let all the other shells go.
I walked back to the car,
with the shell in my hand.
It was my lucky find.
