Sinking
Thank you for trying,
But you can stop now.
This is too much for
Me to fight.
I was born broken.
I try and try my hardest
Every day, hour after hour
But nothing works
I’m sinking
I was born broken.
Sometimes the door will open
And I will catch a glimpse
Of the light
But it always leaves.
I’ve learned not to count on it.
I was born broken
The dark is so thick
And I am so tired
It’s not worth it anymore
I’m getting nowhere.
I’m doing nothing, day after day
I was born broken.
So don’t act surprised,
And don’t feel sad
When one day you wake up
And I don’t
I was born broken.
I will die broken.
