Do You Remember?
I remember
the day I met you
Your hair long and blonde
with a tint of brown
whipping in your face
Mine short and curly
dark brown
waving around my ears
I knew...
Yes
I knew...
We played after we got home
You from your private school
Me from my public school
We talked and laughed
We fought and made up
You knew...
Yes
You knew too...
When I slept over at your house
Your mother made us spaghetti
I said my first grace there
as well as my first prayer
We knew...
Didn't we?
We knew...
When you spent the night
my mother made us Japanese food
you tried saying "Itadakimasu" for us
which was very nice of you
Do you remember?
I wonder
'Cause I do...
Then you left for another state
And on the day you moved away
we drew a picture of a turkey
because it was Thanksgiving
But we know...
Yes
We still know...
You are in my heart forever
and I am in yours
Maybe someday
we can be next door-neighbors
once again
