The Worlds Shatter
It was all ripped out from under me.
Everything I thought I had,
Vanished right before my eyes.
One simple phrase
It caught me off guard.
Why would I have been?
I was comfortable,
Happy,
Free,
And most of all
In love.
He said to me,
As stable as could be.
"I wanna call off the wedding."
In that moment
I felt as though i was in a magic performance
A beautiful set of silver china
Laid out on a pure white table cloth
And as he said those words
"I wanna call off the wedding."
The magician pulls the cloth
There is no table any longer,
No foundation.
I, the silver china, fall to the ground
And shatter.
My very world taken from me.
No one to blame,
No one to find mercy,
No happiness.
Darkness over powered me in that moment.
Came over me like a horrible illness.
Shock,
Depression,
Dread,
Sadness,
Fear,
Hearache.
All very familiar
And yet it surprised me.
We seemed to be perfect.
Never to part from each other.
Time would stand still.
In our eyes,
We could conquer the world.
Never faltering,
Never departing.
It all seems an unbelievable dream.
All those happy memories.
All the moments spent together.
It's gone.
Forever lost in time
Never to be found again.
I love him and nothing will change that
Time can pass all it wants
It'll stand tall and strong
For as long as he keeps that piece of me,
All those memories and time
Will be worth it
Never a regret
Never replayed
But always treasured.
