Vicious Impact
The viscous impact
Every year the same story repeats itself.
A flying visit of the rain,
A guest, that won’t stay longer than anyone’s gain.
This makes people dread the summer,
All it does is bring destruction in its wake.
The drought causes nothing but misery.
A trickle of water is all that is left of the river,
Animal corpses become a common sight.
Some people lose their lives,
Others migrate before it is too late.
Resources depleting,
It makes humans behave like Neanderthals.
Superstitions prevail!
A child is sacrificed every time, in the name of god.
It is a myth that rain god will be pleased with the sacrifice.
Disappointment is in abundance,
When there is no rain again,
Every year it’s the same.
