They say that beauty,
Is in the eye of the beholder.
They say that everyone is perfect,
But only in their own way.

They say that everone has beauty,
But only on the inside.
They say that nobodies perfect,
So don't even try.

They say this
Then they say that
But they always contradict
Never letting her know which is which.

They tell her she has beauty
They tell her she is perfect
But do they really mean it?
Is it just so she'll go away?

She says that she has no beauty,
That no guy wants to hold her.
She says that she isn't perfect,
Not even in her own little way.

She wants to have beauty
But not just on the inside.
She wants to be perfect
But not to try.

Favorite Quote:
Just your existence itself is beautiful

It has always bothered me when they say everybody is perfect, then contradict it by saying nobody is perfect. You have mentioned it here beautifully.

This is a sad, yet beautiful and symbolic poem! Even though we know we cannot be perfect, we all wish to be.
