Hostility
He wanted to be a cop like his father,
A poet like his grandfather,
However, he became a criminal.
Why you may ask,
Did he decide to become one?
Well, it was not his doing,
But the society’s prejudice,
That tagged him as a criminal
His only mistake was that he liked men.
People’s accusatory looks made him question himself,
Was there no humanity left?
Each morning he dreaded,
Every moment a battle, to win people’s acceptance.
Alas! victory was not his.
Deserted and alone,
His faith at stake,
He did the world a favor,
And left for heavenly abode.
