It's Okay
Everyone says it's okay
to walk out of someone's life
if you don't feel like you belong anymore.
But what no one tells you
is that it hurts.
It hurts a lot.
It hurts to see someone
you once called you best friend
being best friendly with someone else.
It hurts to not have someone
to confide in about the stupid things
that the guy in your chem class says.
It hurts to have empty weekends
when you used to be so busy.
But they also don't tell you that,
once the hurt goes away,
you're gonna feel free.
There's no more negative energy
or fear of making a mistake.
There's no more stressing out
that you're saying the wrong thing.
And there's no more fear your happiness
will make them feel worse about themselves.
It's okay to just be you,
no strings attached.
And it's okay to love it.
