To not have a heart
What does it mean to be human? To have Mercy? All inside a world where mercy is all too scarce, perhaps it doesn’t exist. We are in a dark time when brotherly slaughter is second nature, where we hurt each other all the time without knowing. Hearts are broken for the sake of breaking, and lies are spoken for the sake of lying. Everyone speaks but no one listens. Love is but a tool while friends are bought and sold like products. Reality is all too distant as we mindlessly scurry about selling our souls and bottling our hearts, but who stands to truly see the world? And who shall stand to ask them what they see? For soon we will become as evil as our actions and as heartless as our lies.
I wonder, does it hurt to not have a heart?
