Maybe
Maybe if my face was a little prettier
Or my voice a little smoother
Or the way I composed myself was a little bit graceful
I would be a “pretty girl”
People would say, “There goes that pretty girl”
I would be envied, loved, noticed
Maybe
But what is the point of that?
You should love yourself for you
All the little bits of your damaged soul
All the heartbreak and anger
You should own who you are
Not be ashamed
Don’t let those tears fall for someone else
But it is okay not to be okay
It is okay to be sad
It’s okay to feel like you’re alone
But that loneliness is temporary
Because maybe who you’re looking for is already there
Maybe
