My Chi-Town
Walking through these streets,
a million things go through my head.
Light shining as bright as the sun,
as the city sings in my ears.
“Honk Honk” a taxi awakes me from my day dream.
I am united with the city I have come to love.
I don’t know if was the energy,
or the people that made me love this place.
Six sketchy skateboarders suddenly skate past me.
Some may call us Chicagoans cocky,
but in my opinion, we are just proud.
What are we proud of exactly?
Everything from our talented sports teams to our beautiful lakefront.
In our eyes, Chicago is a bright firework towering
over Lake Michigan.
Because anyone who has been here knows
Chi-town is the best place around.
