Perception
Do you see weakness in one who cries during sad times?
Bitterness and anger in those who speak what they think?
Or snobbery in one who is in solitude for a lost beloved?
Even stupidity with the one who can’t see they are cared for?
What about frailty in those who have a heart to care with?
Or the one who can love unconditionally as a common fool?
To you, is there strength in those who steal power?
Virtue in those who kill for the opinion of one race?
Cleverness in the people who can cheat the just?
What about the wise as having shielded, cold hearts?
Do you applaud those who find order by becoming a tyrant?
Are the ignorant to you knowledgeable and happy?
You the opinionated, look to these people and see
I know you judge before you hear a story
Who am I to try and stop you? I know I can’t
Maybe next time though, pause a moment before ‘knowing’
Those people may not be at all what they seem
The question is, can you see at all through this barrier?
Can you find the true person that is hidden underneath?
