To be Normal

Normal?
What is it?
This thing you lust after, strive for, yearn for,
Spending your days learning what is beautiful, good, and right, and for what?
Acceptance? A life in the herd?
Is that really so attractive?
Sacrificing your originality, your creativity, your very soul,
To the mindless masses, with happiness just beyond the horizon,
To a cruel, heartless world where people eat each other for power and cast aside those less fortunate than they.
In a world like that, who would ever want to be normal?
