I am poem
I am the clear water in a river
The sparkling water that once gave life to many people
And I come from a place that doesn’t exist anymore
I look in the mirror and see small butterflies inside my brown eyes
The reds of anger
The greens of envy
The blues of sadness
The yellow of happiness
In my dreams I imagine the perfect paradise that once belonged to my country
I am free spirited
I cry when June’s come by and I have to say goodbye
All I can do is wait until autumn comes back
But the gentle peals of laughter caused by deft fingers at my tummy make me laugh
My love for poetry has no bounds,
My emotions over flow
And I have to find a way to embrace this beauty
I am what used to be
