Safe Haven
Holding him in my arms, a stranger,
I hear his strong heartbeat,
his quick rapid breathing,
my mind in wonderment as I try to fathom why
someone could walk away from someone so perfect.
I believe that he was meant for us,
so that he would mend our broken hearts.
This little miracle had us wrapped around his fingers
and nothing would ever separate us now.
Watching him grow and learn, so busy
with what the world has to offer. Answering
all his questions “Poo Poo whas that?”
feel the smile spread across my face,
at my ridiculous nickname, and loving every minute
that passes because I know that he is ours
forever.
